Belarus’ Ministry of Information has updated the “Republican List of Extremist Materials.” Among the additions are communities uniting people who deny the collapse of the USSR: the VKontakte page “Mahilyow and Mahilyow Region USSR/BSSR,” as well as the Telegram chats “USSR Information Chat” and “Byelorussian SSR.” The corresponding ruling was issued on May 11, 2026, by the Leninski District Court of Mahilyow.
The list also includes:
- TikTok pages “DARMAED,” “Lichalapouski,” “lisbet25730,” “basta_bel,” “Arturs Burinskis,” “BELPOL,” “zhekapobeda,” and “Anna Samokhina”;
- the Instagram page “solibel.no”;
- the Facebook pages “Aleksandr Rykov,” “Boris David Balte,” “Valantsiorski Tsentr Sustriecha,” and “Anton Malkin”;
- the X page “Karani Bielaruskai”;
- the YouTube channel “Anna Samokhina.”
It should be recalled that in Belarus, accusations of extremism are used by the authorities to fight opponents of Aliaksandr Lukashenka and dissent in general.
