Five tonnes of undeclared goods with a total value of more than 900,000 rubles were found in a DAF truck operated by a Lithuanian carrier. The violation was detected by Hrodna customs officers at the Beniakoni border crossing.

Among the seized items were ingredients for the food and pharmaceutical industries, raw materials for the production of dietary supplements, coffee, pasta, canned goods and other products. The violation was committed deliberately in order to understate customs payments.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the carrier. It faces a fine of up to 30% of the value of the illegally imported goods, as well as additional customs payments of around 250,000 rubles, the Belarusian Customs Committee’s press service reported.
