Belarus is experiencing a seasonal increase in demand for motor fuel, Valery Atroshchanka, head of the Hydrocarbon Feedstock Supply and Product Sales Department at Belorusneft’s central office, said in an interview with CTV.

“There has been an increase in consumption at filling stations. This is the usual, traditional seasonal demand. We are prepared for this demand. Where consumption rises at particular filling stations, fuel is delivered to those sites in a timely manner to ensure uninterrupted supplies for our customers.

Many visitors from neighbouring countries come to Belarus, including to our filling stations. At present, there are no restrictions or limits at border-area filling stations or any other sites. Fuel is freely available today in the required quantities.

Demand for certain petroleum products is increasing. However, this demand is under control, and filling stations have sufficient fuel to meet it. There is no panic buying. It is linked to the season,” he said.

According to Atroshchanka, fuel deliveries to filling stations are proceeding on schedule, and supplies are sufficient. Refineries are fulfilling all orders according to plan.

“Accordingly, all of our facilities, including filling stations and petroleum storage depots, have sufficient fuel supplies.

Diesel fuel accounts for the largest share of sales, at around 55%. Motor gasoline accounts for 40%, while automotive propane-butane produced by our Belarusian gas processing plant makes up the remaining 5%. We are currently seeing a decline in demand for 92-octane gasoline of around 6% and an increase in consumption of 95-octane gasoline of around 10%,” he added.
