Belarusian universities have completed the enrolment of students who will study under the target admission scheme.

“With an admission plan of 6,300 target places, 9,100 applicants submitted documents. Following the selection and competition, which was to be held for each sponsoring organisation, and the introduction of a practical task into the internal entrance examination, about 5,600 people were enrolled under the target admission scheme. In other words, the initial plan was fulfilled by 90%”, First Deputy Education Minister Aliaksandr Bakhanovich said, according to BelTA.

A total of 1,300 target-admission students were enrolled in engineering and technical programmes, 1,200 in teacher training programmes, about 700 in agricultural programmes and more than 2,000 in medical programmes.

The roughly 700 unfilled places will be transferred to the general admissions competition.
