The Belarusian MARA camp will once again be part of the Burning Man festival.

“Our debut at Burning Man last year caused a real sensation. Our ‘Laznia’ and ‘Draniki’ attracted countless reviews, and some even called MARA the best camp of the season. In 2026, we will bring back to the desert what we are most proud of — our traditions, culture and heartfelt warmth,” the team wrote.

The Belarusian camp will consist of three key elements:

  • LAZNIA — a ritual of cleansing body and spirit
  • DRANIKI — a center of hospitality
  • DRACAR — an art car for nighttime journeys

In addition, a community of 60 people will come together to share their traditions with the world. Organizers are inviting others to join the initiative.

MARA Camp was launched last year by Vondel Digital, an agency founded by former political prisoner Aliaksandr Vasilevich.

The Burning Man festival takes place annually in the United States. During the event, a temporary city is created in which almost everything that happens is entirely produced by its residents. Contemporary artworks, often of fantastical forms, are installed in the desert. Some of them are burned by their creators before the festival ends.

The culmination of the festival is the burning of a giant human-shaped sculpture.

This year, Burning Man will take place in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert from August 30 to September 7. The festival’s central theme is creative interpretations of the cosmic tree, although art installations are welcomed and encouraged throughout Black Rock City regardless of whether they reflect this year’s theme.
