Yury Kastsiuchenka, a postgraduate student at the Belarusian National Technical University, has been stripped of his presidential scholarship following the entry into force of a court verdict.

The decision was made by the Republican Council for the Support of Gifted and Talented Youth and Promising Projects and approved by Aliaksandr Lukashenka through an official order.

“Deprive Yury Aliaksandravich Kastsiuchenka, a postgraduate student at the Belarusian National Technical University, of the right to receive the President of the Republic of Belarus scholarship for postgraduate students for 2026 in connection with the verdict of the Minsk City Court dated April 24, 2026, which entered into legal force on May 3, 2026.”, the order published on Lukashenka’s website says.

Yury Kastsiuchenka has been added to the Interior Ministry’s list of “extremists.” The list states that he was convicted under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code (facilitating extremist activity).
