A 23-year-old Belarusian citizen has been detained in Poland on suspicion of fraud, police in the city of Kielce reported.
On March 16, a 35-year-old resident of Kielce received a call from an unknown person who introduced himself as a bank employee. He told her that her funds were at risk and that the only way to protect them was to transfer the money to a “safe” account. The victim followed the instructions of the “bank employee,” and when she realized she had been deceived, she contacted the police.
Police identified the suspect and detained him in Wrocław on March 18. A court ordered his pre-trial detention for three months.
