The culture ministries of Belarus and Russia have signed a cooperation plan for 2026. The document was signed by Belarusian Culture Minister Ruslan Charnetski and Russian Deputy Culture Minister Andrei Malyshev.
According to Charnetski, the 2025 cooperation plan included 75 events. The new document contains more than 100 items.
“Last year’s plan was not only fully implemented, it was even exceeded. The plan signed today includes more than 100 events, and I am confident that by the end of the year it will also be exceeded,” he was quoted as saying by BelTA.
At the same time, an agreement on cooperation with Tatarstan was signed. The minister described this as a “historic event.”
“We have much in common with this republic — a shared worldview, history and culture. Therefore, we must develop these relations,” he said.
He added that at a joint board meeting with the Russian ministry, particular attention was paid to preserving historical memory and patriotic education. Charnetski also called for more active work on social media to convey “narratives and the agenda” to young people.
