A 30-year-old tourist from Belarus nearly drowned while swimming at the Italian seaside resort of Marina di Pietrasanta in Tuscany. Thanks to the prompt response of lifeguards, the woman was resuscitated and taken to hospital.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of July 27 near the Eva beach club in Marina di Pietrasanta on the Versilia coast. According to local media, the woman got into difficulty while swimming in the sea. Three lifeguards were the first to come to her aid, pulling her from the water and immediately beginning cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
After emergency medical personnel arrived, resuscitation efforts continued. An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle with a doctor, and a specialist vehicle with a nurse were dispatched to the scene. After numerous attempts to revive her, the woman regained consciousness.
She was taken to the emergency department of Versilia Hospital with a “yellow code” designation. In Italy, this indicates a condition of moderate severity requiring urgent medical attention but without an immediate threat to life.
Local media have not disclosed the tourist’s identity or the cause of the incident. They reported only that she is a 30-year-old Belarusian citizen.
