A Belarusian-Indonesian business forum is taking place in Jakarta, where contracts worth $49 million have already been signed. This was announced by the chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mikhail Myatlikau.
“As of now, based on contracts and agreements prepared in advance, our Indonesian partners have already signed contracts worth $49 million. Some of our companies are meeting for the first time, and additional visits and a number of meetings at enterprises and commercial facilities in Jakarta are scheduled for the next day. Therefore, we expect new agreements that will be implemented in the coming months,” he said, according to BelTA.
Deputy Prime Minister Viktar Karankevich said that one of the key areas of cooperation is food security. According to him, Belarusian food products are already being supplied to Indonesia. Traditionally, the Belarusian side is also promoting its engineering products.
“To support the mechanization of Indonesia’s agriculture, we can offer comprehensive solutions. This involves not only supplying machinery and related equipment, but also establishing service centers while transferring the necessary expertise to local specialists. In the future, we are ready to set up joint assembly facilities with the transfer of relevant technologies,” he said.
According to him, Belarus is interested in importing cocoa beans, palm oil, pharmaceuticals, rubber, seafood, coffee and other goods from Indonesia.
The business forum precedes the visit of Aliaksandr Lukashenka to Indonesia.
