The average salary in April decreased by 22.9 Belarusian roubles after increasing by 232.8 roubles in March. It amounted to 2,952.9 roubles before personal income tax, according to Belstat.
In real terms, adjusted for inflation, the country’s average salary increased by 6.7% compared with April last year.
In Minsk, the average salary in April stood at 3,889.4 roubles, down 132.8 roubles from the previous month. In real terms, the capital’s average salary increased by 4.5% year on year. In Minsk Region, the average salary in April was just under 3,000 roubles. In Brest, Hrodna and Homiel regions, it exceeded 2,600 roubles. The lowest average salary was recorded in Mahiliou Region, where it stood at 2,472.5 roubles, up 7.3% in real terms year on year.
The highest-paid employees in April were those working in passenger air transport, with an average salary of 7,464.2 roubles. IT specialists ranked second with 7,394.8 roubles, followed by employees engaged in support activities for financial services and insurance with 7,230.7 roubles.
According to Belstat, the lowest salaries among sectors in March were earned by employees of hairdressing salons and beauty salons, at 1,582.2 roubles. Employees of museums, libraries and archives earned 1,788.1 roubles, while those in creative activities and entertainment earned 1,854.8 roubles.
Average earnings in crop production amounted to 2,571.5 roubles in April, while in livestock farming they reached 2,434.9 roubles. In manufacturing, the average salary stood at 3,008.2 roubles, and in mining at 4,621.5 roubles.
In construction, average pre-tax earnings amounted to 3,722.8 roubles, while in retail trade they stood at 2,364.7 roubles.
The average salary in healthcare was 2,465.4 roubles, while in education it amounted to 2,091.3 roubles.
