Agricultural Production Increased by 2.9% in January-April

Agricultural production increased in January-April, according to Belstat.

Across all categories of farms, output rose by 2.9% to 7.6 billion rubles, while production at agricultural organizations increased by 3.2% to 7.5 billion rubles.

Production of livestock and poultry at agricultural organizations grew by 4.6% to 609,600 tonnes in live weight, milk output increased by 2.6% to 3 million tonnes, while egg production fell by 0.5% to 1.15 billion units.

As of May 1, agricultural organizations had 3.9 million head of cattle, including 1.3 million cows. The pig population totaled 2 million head, while poultry numbers stood at 52 million birds.
