On the evening of November 12, a Belavia Embraer 195 passenger aircraft operating the Minsk–Baku flight was forced to return to the National Airport shortly after takeoff. According to the airline, the reason was a technical malfunction, Minsk-News reported.
The aircraft departed from Minsk at 23:17, but shortly after takeoff, the crew detected a technical issue. Following the decision of the aircraft commander, the plane returned to its base airport at 23:46.
After landing, the aircraft was promptly replaced with a Boeing 737-300, and the flight departed for Azerbaijan at 2:20. While the replacement was underway, passengers were offered refreshments, the airline said.
Belavia apologized for the situation and noted that the company’s staff took all possible measures to minimize the inconvenience.
