Writer Hanna Zlatkouskaya has stepped down from her position as assistant to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. She reported this on her Facebook blog.
“And so my work as Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s assistant has come to an end. It was a very intense and important experience that lasted nine months (an interesting number for self-reflection). Every change in life teaches us something, especially if you think about it as much as I do.
During this period, I learned a lot about myself and was able to reassess not only what I mechanically considered my weaknesses, but also what I managed to overcome”, Zlatkouskaya wrote.
Zlatkouskaya described details of her work and characterized Tsikhanouskaya as a highly organized person who “does not allow herself to get tired”.
“Sviatlana’s name will forever remain in history; it was a pleasure, even if only for a short time, to be part of it”, Zlatkouskaya wrote.
The writer plans to write a new book in Belarusian: “But I remain a writer who dreams of writing a new book in the Belarusian language, who loves her fluffy monsters and deeply cares about every Belarusian who has suffered under the regime. A new chapter of my life is beginning, but in exile there have been so many that it has already become привычно”.
