Aliaksandr Lukashenka has described Western politicians, including U.S. President Donald Trump, as temporary figures. He made the remarks in an interview with RT propagandist TV host Rick Sanchez, which took place on April 17 in Minsk.
Lukashenka was asked about his approval rating, which Western politicians allegedly envy.
“Among politicians, there is a certain degree of envy toward one another. This is indeed the case, you are absolutely right. I also think about this often. God grant that some Western politician would have, well, not 78%, not 80%, but at least 60% in the West. And this is your problem. And Macron — the President of France, and Merz, and so on. They are temporary figures, you see? They are temporary figures. They came, grabbed, and left. That is the basis of their policy. Therefore, they do not think about the people of France, Germany, and so on. And that is their problem,” said the Belarusian ruler, who has been in power for almost 32 years.
“They once taught us — Russia, us there, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and other countries. And now they should come to us, learn, and draw appropriate conclusions. They do not want to learn and draw conclusions, just like your Trump. Well, who is he? He is a temporary figure. He has four years. What will he do in four years? Nothing, he will do nothing. Therefore, a president must have time,” he concluded.
