The Election Commission of the Coordination Council decided at a March 2 meeting which documents will be accepted for voting in the Council’s elections.

Participation in the vote will be allowed with a Belarusian citizen’s passport, whether valid or expired, as well as with a New Belarus passport.

“We set ourselves the goal of ensuring that Belarusians who are currently without passports are able to vote, because they were only recently released from Belarusian prisons and forcibly deported, in most cases without documents,” said Election Commission Chair Alena Prykhodzka.

Elections to the fourth convocation of the Coordination Council will take place on May 11–17.
