Ukraine is actively expanding its defensive fortifications along its entire border with Belarus, which stretches for 1,085 kilometres. This was stated by Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, the border is protected, but efforts are currently underway to further strengthen it.
“The work that has already been completed is now being further expanded,” Demchenko said.
The Border Guard Service and other components of the Defence Forces are involved in the construction of the fortifications. Under instructions from the president, local self-government bodies are also required to participate in the construction effort.
