Lithuania’s State Border Guard Service has sent a second group of border guards to assist their Latvian colleagues.

Nine Lithuanian border guards, including two dog handlers with service dogs, will begin serving in Latvia on July 15. The first group of Lithuanian officers is now completing its deployment.

“Lithuanian border guards, coordinating their actions with their Latvian colleagues, will continue border control, efforts to prevent illegal migration from Belarus and other border protection activities along the most problematic sections of Latvia’s border with Belarus,” the statement said.
