Belarusian Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn held talks with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, the Belarusian government’s press service reported. Turchyn described Belarus-China relations as an example of a “mature, trusting and future-oriented strategic partnership.”
He noted that Belarus views China as one of its key economic partners and strategic investors.
Turchyn also recalled that on May 12, Aliaksandr Lukashenka signed a directive on the practical implementation of Belarus’s all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership with China.
“At present, China is the only foreign country for which documents of this level are being adopted,” he stressed.
“We are consistently working to align the Belt and Road Initiative with Belarus’s national socio-economic development priorities, creating modern transport, logistics, industrial and technological routes across Eurasia,” the prime minister said.
He also referred to the Great Stone Industrial Park and cooperation in artificial intelligence, mechanical engineering and science. Turchyn further noted similarities between the two countries’ development plans for 2026–2030.
“We also support China’s efforts to strengthen an open global economy, develop resilient production chains and build a fair system of international economic cooperation,” Turchyn said.
The prime minister expressed confidence that Han Zheng’s visit to Belarus would become “an important step in implementing new joint projects and provide additional momentum for practical Belarus-China cooperation.”
For his part, Han Zheng described Belarus as China’s “all-weather and comprehensive strategic partner.”
“China has had no other partners of this kind,” he said. “That is why China attaches special importance to the development of China-Belarus relations.”
