The prime ministers of Belarus and Russia, Aliaksandr Turchyn and Mikhail Mishustin, held another round of talks at the Innoprom exhibition in Yekaterinburg. They had already met the previous day.
Turchyn said the exhibition had already proven its importance for both countries. He stressed that bilateral relations continue to show growth.
“In just the first five months of the year, our bilateral trade has increased by more than 20%. This indicates that we are on the right track. And, of course, within the framework of the Union State, we are addressing a whole range of issues and tasks that need to be resolved.
As you rightly noted, amid this unprecedented sanctions pressure, our presidents met only recently. Before my departure, I also spoke with Aliaksandr Hryhoravich, who asked me to convey his best wishes to Vladimir Vladimirovich. I am confident that the current pace of our meetings and discussions will continue. Therefore, Mikhail Vladimirovich, I also note with satisfaction that relations between the two governments — the Government of Russia and the Government of Belarus — are at the highest level.
I am always grateful to you for being available 24/7. Whenever issues arise, we resolve them promptly together. Even yesterday evening demonstrated this: our colleagues discussed issues throughout the evening, and this morning we have continued our active discussions here. We have already found solutions and options for many of the issues we discussed yesterday,” Turchyn said.
Mishustin also conveyed greetings to Lukashenka from Putin.
“First of all, I would like to ask you to convey my best wishes, as well as those of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, to Belarusian President Aliaksandr Hryhoravich Lukashenka,” he said.
“We value our allied, fraternal relations, which continue to develop in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance,” the Russian prime minister said.
He also stressed that despite sanctions, cooperation continues to grow, with bilateral trade increasing, including a higher share of machinery, equipment, and high-tech products.
“Systematic work is also underway to implement the agreements reached by the leaders of Russia and Belarus in May in Moscow and in July at Valdai,” Mishustin added.
