The United Transitional Cabinet awarded the medals “Honour and Dignity”, Francysk Skaryna Medal and “For Productive Work for the Benefit of Belarus” to 24 distinguished individuals.
On May 27, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya presented the awards in Kyiv. Representatives of the United Transitional Cabinet Pavel Barkouski and Vadzim Kabanchuk attended the ceremony.
The “Honour and Dignity” medals were awarded to Belarusian volunteers and support group volunteers “Nemets”, “Shmit”, “Blansh”, “Sonya”, “Sever”, “Lesnik”, “Martin”, “Akson”, “Gamlet”, “Kipish”, and Dzianis Herasimchyk.
The Francysk Skaryna Medal was awarded to Belarusian opera singer Marharyta Liauchuk.
The “For Productive Work for the Benefit of Belarus” medal was awarded to:
Vadim Halaychuk — Ukrainian lawyer and attorney, member of parliament and one of the initiators of the “For Democratic Belarus” group in the Verkhovna Rada.
Ihor Guz — Ukrainian politician, member of the eighth and ninth convocations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and one of the initiators of the parliamentary group “For Democratic Belarus”.
Yurii Barabash — Doctor of Law, professor, defender of democratic values in the region and judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
Viacheslav Levytskyi — Ukrainian poet, prose writer, translator, critic and literary scholar.
Siarhei Prylutsky — Belarusian poet, prose writer, translator and volunteer serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Pavel Sharoyka — journalist at Ukrainian Radio and former political prisoner in Belarus.
Yurii Panchenko — editor of European Pravda, who reported on unlawful actions by the Lukashenka regime and explained the importance for Ukraine of maintaining contacts with democratic Belarus.
Siarhei Sidarenka — editor of European Pravda, who has covered the Belarusian protests, repression and the Belarusian people’s struggle for freedom since 2020.
Aliaksandr Rykau (BalaganOFF) — Ukrainian blogger covering social and political developments related to Belarus and Russia and who initiated fundraising for drone procurement for the Kastuś Kalinoŭski Regiment.
Iryna Uzlova — Ukrainian journalist and host of news programmes on Channel 24, covering political and human rights topics.
Yauheniya Kutnova — Ukrainian journalist contributing to condemnation of repression and support for democratic change in Belarus.
Aliaksei Homan — Ukrainian journalist who consistently and professionally covers the activities of Belarus’s democratic forces and the human rights situation in the country.
Medals were also awarded to former Ukrainian ambassador to Belarus Ihar Kizim, military chaplain Yauhen Ord, serviceman and public figure Siarhei Bahukalets, and analyst Yauhen Mahda.
