Head of the United Transitional Cabinet Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya commented on events in Venezuela, stating that Alyaksandr Lukashenka is losing another ally in the person of Nicolás Maduro. She expressed support for the Venezuelan people and wished them a return to the rule of law in their country.

“My heart today is with the people of Venezuela. I wish Venezuelans to regain justice, the rule of law, and truly free elections — what they deserve and what they have long and courageously fought for,” the democratic leader said.

“The events in Venezuela remind all of us: no dictatorship is eternal. The era of Maduro’s criminal regime is coming to an end — and together with it, the equally illegitimate Lukashenka is losing yet another ally,” the politician added.

Earlier today, the United States carried out a large-scale operation against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolás Maduro. U.S. President Donald Trump said that Maduro and his wife “were captured and taken out of the country.”

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said that Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores have been charged in the Southern District of New York. According to her, Maduro is accused of conspiracy to commit narco-terrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine, unlawful possession of machine guns and destructive devices, and conspiracy to possess machine guns and destructive devices against the United States.
