Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya commented on reports of a drone flying over the sky above Homyel, saying that under such conditions the country cannot be described as peaceful. According to her, each such device potentially poses a danger.
“Propaganda continues to claim that Lukashenka has ‘preserved peace in the country’. Meanwhile, another drone has flown through the Belarusian sky. As long as Russian military drones are flying in Belarusian skies, they cannot be called peaceful, because each of them can crash before reaching its destination, as has happened before. It is obvious that the regime is once again putting the most valuable thing at risk — people’s lives,” the politician said.
She stressed that decisions on military integration with Russia are taken without public participation. In her view, without political change it is impossible to restore a “truly peaceful sky” over the country.
“While Lukashenka flies to Putin, Russian aggression hangs over the heads of our children and parents. They have stolen our peaceful sky and are using it in the war against Ukraine. But this is not the choice of Belarusians. We are against the war. All decisions on military integration are made by one person. And without political changes, it is impossible to bring back a truly peaceful sky,” the democratic leader added.
It is recalled that on the morning of February 26, residents of Homyel reported a Shahed-like drone seen in various parts of the city.
The Homyel authorities did not comment on the incident. An unofficial Telegram channel linked to Homyel ideologues threatened criminal liability for taking photos and videos of drones and military equipment.
