Head of the United Transitional Cabinet Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has commented on reports that her children allegedly moved to the United States to live with their father, Siarhei Tsikhanouski, and have already started attending a local school. According to her, her son and daughter are there temporarily amid efforts to address security issues and organize the work of her office.
“No, the children have not moved to the United States, they are there temporarily. At the moment, we are resolving issues related to security and the organization of the office’s work. Therefore, as a family, we decided that for now the children would stay with their dad. He is currently studying English and continuing his activities in the United States. At the same time, you know my schedule of official visits and meetings, and Siarhei had not seen the children for a long time and can now spend sufficient time with them,” the democratic forces leader said.
Earlier, playwright Andrei Kureichyk said during his livestream that Siarhei Tsikhanouski had taken the children to the United States and that they had already started attending school there.
It should be recalled that the security detail for Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya was transferred to the Criminal Police Bureau from the Government Protection Service, which had previously been responsible for her protection.
In early January, diplomatic adviser to the democratic forces leader Dzianis Kuchynski said that the Belarusian authorities had increased pressure on the democratic community after her security was transferred to the Lithuanian Criminal Police Bureau.
