Ukraine will strengthen its defences along the border with Belarus and create new unmanned systems units in the area. This was announced today by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

“Particular attention was paid to strengthening the defence of the state border in the northern direction. To improve the effectiveness of border protection, a decision was made to form new unmanned systems units. They will be provided with the necessary weapons, equipment and other resources to carry out their assigned tasks. At the same time, we continue to expand the capabilities of the units already operating in this area,” Syrskyi said following a meeting on reserve forces.

In recent weeks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has spoken about Russian plans to launch an offensive from Belarusian territory. Aliaksandr Lukashenka has stated that Belarus does not intend to enter the war against Ukraine.
