The State Control Committee may receive additional powers. A draft law “On Amendments to Laws on the Activities of the State Control Committee Bodies” has been submitted to the House of Representatives.
According to the chamber’s press service, the draft law enshrines a new principle for the activities of the State Control Committee bodies — the prevention of offenses in the economic sphere.
The draft law also provides the State Control Committee with the following powers:
- identifying violations of legislation on prices and pricing, trade, and public catering;
- prohibiting the state registration and liquidation of legal entities;
- suspending transactions on electronic wallets in banks and non-bank credit and financial organizations.
In addition, the powers of the financial investigation bodies of the State Control Committee are being expanded. The draft law provides for mandatory state social insurance for civil servants of the financial investigation bodies who carry out control activities.
