The State Control Committee (KGK) has identified violations in 14 rural shops in the Homiel Region. Inspections were carried out in the Zhlobin, Chachersk, Kalinkavichy and Homiel districts.

Inspectors identified the following violations:

  • sale of products past their expiration date;
  • absence of mandatory food and consumer goods required to be available for sale;
  • lack of information required for customers. In two shops in the Zhlobin and Homiel districts, inspectors found 13 kilograms of expired products on sale. Some of the goods had expired more than a month earlier, according to the State Control Committee.

Seven shops did not have mandatory goods available for sale, including vegetables, apples, poultry meat, school notebooks, ballpoint pens and toothpaste.

In several shops, food products were stored in violation of regulations, while some goods lacked price tags.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated against those responsible.
