State Authority for Military Industry Reveals Contents of Protocol With Russia on Military-Technical Cooperation

Belarus’ House of Representatives on Tuesday ratified a protocol amending the agreement between Belarus and Russia on the development of military-technical cooperation. According to the State Authority for Military Industry, the document is aimed at deepening integration in the defence sector.

The ratification bill was presented by the committee’s chairman, Dzmitry Pantus. He noted that the geopolitical situation has changed, creating the need to amend the agreement.

Pantus highlighted the following changes:

  • the list of organisations authorised to independently procure military-technical equipment and property has been expanded;
  • the procedures for concluding and implementing contracts, as well as compiling lists of military-technical equipment and property, have been revised;
  • the procurement process for components needed for the maintenance and repair of weapons and military equipment has been simplified;
  • the cost of procured weapons and military equipment samples has been reduced when military acceptance services are carried out.
