Sales of Belarusian gasoline through the St. Petersburg exchange declined slightly in November. According to RIA Novosti, citing exchange data, 35.34 thousand tonnes of gasoline were sold in November, a decrease of 3.13 percent compared with October.
Over the first 11 months, sales of Belarusian gasoline more than doubled to 105.3 thousand tonnes compared with the same period last year.
Trading volumes of Belarusian diesel fuel in November reached 44.82 thousand tonnes, an increase of 63.82 percent from October. Over 11 months, sales of Belarusian diesel fuel fell by 6.24 percent to 209.04 thousand tonnes compared with the same period last year.
Deliveries of Belarusian fuel to Russia began increasing in the autumn amid shortages in parts of the country.
It should be noted that in recent days Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s chief of staff, Dzmitry Krutoi, said that in the fourth quarter Belarusian oil refineries are operating on tolling raw materials from Russia. According to him, petroleum products are sent back to Russia, while some are sold on export markets and some are consumed domestically. This scheme ensures a profitability of 7–8 percent.
