Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova, as part of her country visit to Belarus, held a personal reception for Russian citizens detained in Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 1 in Kaliadzichy. Members of the CIS Human Rights Commission also took part in the meetings.

Following the meetings, Moskalkova accepted appeals from the detainees. According to her, all Russian citizens held in the facility noted “a high standard of detention conditions”, adequate medical care, and the ability to communicate with relatives.

“All persons held in the detention center noted the high standard of detention conditions, the provision of medical care, and the ability to communicate with relatives and loved ones. The level of medical care meets international standards. Serving a sentence outside the country of one’s citizenship is always associated with social and бытовой isolation and difficulties in maintaining contact with family,” she wrote on Telegram.

Moskalkova also visited a hospital for convicted individuals, defendants, and suspects, opened in Belarus in 2024.
