A register of monuments and memorials will be created in Belarus. The relevant resolution was signed by Belarusian Prime Minister Alyaksandr Turchyn.
The document improves legal regulation of the procedure for creating (reconstructing) works of monumental and monumental-decorative art.
“As a result of the adoption of the resolution, consolidated information will appear on monuments, memorials, commemorative signs and other works of monumental and monumental-decorative art located on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, including those created at the initiative of foreign states, as well as works created by the Republic of Belarus in foreign states,” the government’s press service reports.
The provisions of the resolution are aimed at ensuring the recording, systematisation and updating of information on works of monumental and monumental-decorative art located in Belarus and abroad, improving information work, and preserving and promoting Belarusian culture.
The procedure for creating works of monumental and monumental-decorative art is being improved, and the mechanism for decision-making by local executive and administrative bodies is being simplified.
Registers of such works will be published on the websites of state bodies.
