Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law ratifying the Agreement between the governments of Belarus and Russia on amendments to the terms of certain Russian-Belarusian intergovernmental agreements. The document had previously been approved by the State Duma and the Federation Council of Russia.
The agreement was signed in June last year and concerns the deferral of payments on state loans.
As Russian Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Kolychev said when presenting the ratification bill to the Russian parliament, the volume of deferred payments amounts to about $250 million. These payments are being postponed to the period from 2032 to 2037.
Russia has also today completed the ratification procedure of an agreement with Belarus on the protection of citizens from unjustified prosecution by other countries and international judicial bodies.
