The Minsk City Court found political prisoner Alena Malinouskaya guilty but released her because she had already served the sentence. The verdict was announced on March 6.

Malinouskaya had been charged under articles on incitement of hatred (Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code) and calls for sanctions (Part 3 of Article 361 of the Criminal Code). The court sentenced her to four years and nine months in prison, but since she had already spent more than four years behind bars, that time was counted toward the sentence. Malinouskaya was released in the courtroom, the human rights center Viasna reported.

In 2022 Alena Malinouskaya was tried together with Liliya Ananyan and Anatol Latushka, a cousin of Pavel Latushka. She was sentenced to four years in a penal colony. The court found her guilty of participating in actions that grossly violated public order, desecrating state symbols and hooliganism. According to the prosecution, Latushka, Malinouskaya and Ananyan took part in protests, burned a state flag and painted the “Pahonia” symbol in an apartment building entrance.

Malinouskaya was supposed to be released on August 31, 2025, but she was detained under a new criminal case and taken from the penal colony to custody in Minsk.
