The Minsk Regional Police Department has reported successes in monitoring labour migration.
According to the police statement, on February 17 an employer contacted law enforcement to report the disappearance of two migrants who had arrived in Belarus to work at a farming enterprise. They had left their place of residence in an unknown direction.
Within 24 hours, detectives from the Maladzyechna District Police Department, together with colleagues from the regional directorate, located the foreigners. They were planning to leave the territory of Belarus and illegally cross the border into EU countries.
“In respect of the ‘runaways,’ the issue of expulsion from the Republic of Belarus was publicly considered in the presence of more than a dozen foreigners who had arrived in the country for study and employment,” the police said.
