The pilot of the motorised hang glider that crashed near Minsk today was Ruslan Ivanou. This was reported on Instagram by his friend Siarhei Lapkouski.
Lapkouski and Ivanov played together in the band Tsvet Aloe. Ruslan later trained as a pilot, obtained a commercial licence and worked at the Aero-Mensk club. The club offers flights on motorised hang gliders, gyrocopters and hot-air balloons.
The motorised hang glider piloted by Ivanov crashed today near the village Azertso outside Minsk. The pilot and a 26-year-old female passenger were killed. According to preliminary information, the pilot lost control during the flight.
