Nicaragua has received a large shipment of Belarusian machinery, the Ministry of Industry reported.
A total of 248 units were handed over in Managua, including construction, freight and municipal vehicles produced by MAZ and Amkodor.
The equipment will be used for the construction and maintenance of highways and municipal roads.
The handover ceremony took place during the visit of Vitali Barchuk, Belarus’ ambassador to Cuba and Nicaragua. He also held talks with Foreign Minister Valdrack Jaentschke. The meetings were also attended by senior adviser to the co-presidents on international cooperation, Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan Lara Palacios, and adviser to the co-presidents on investment, trade and international cooperation Laureano Ortega Murillo.
“The parties reviewed current issues of cooperation in the political, trade and economic, and humanitarian spheres and outlined promising areas for joint work. The interlocutors confirmed their readiness to further expand and strengthen long-term partnership between Belarus and Nicaragua. They discussed preparations for upcoming bilateral events: a meeting of the Belarus–Nicaragua Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and a round of interministerial consultations scheduled to take place in Minsk in 2026,” the Foreign Ministry said.
