Lithuanian border guards have intercepted another smuggling drone. This time, officers brought down a fixed-wing unmanned aircraft.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania, a patrol in Šalčininkai District heard the sound of a drone engine on Saturday evening. A counter-drone device was used to disable the unmanned aircraft, causing it to crash. Shortly afterward, officers found the fixed-wing drone about 500 meters from the state border. It was carrying 200 packs of NZ Gold cigarettes bearing Belarusian excise stamps.

Since the beginning of the year, Lithuanian border guards have intercepted 35 drones used for smuggling.
