The National Anti-Crisis Management, Belpol, and Rabochy Rukh have agreed on a common position on sanctions policy toward the Lukashenka regime ahead of the next meeting of the Belarus–EU consultative group.
The meeting was held at the initiative of the deputy head of the United Transitional Cabinet and head of NAU Pavel Latushka. Journalists from the Belarusian investigative center Buro Media also took part and informed participants about current problems with the implementation of EU sanctions decisions.
Participants agreed on a common position on the need to increase sanctions pressure on the Lukashenka regime, as the authorities continue internal repression, support aggression against Ukraine, and carry out hybrid aggression against the EU, the United Transitional Cabinet reported.
At the meeting, recommendations were agreed that will be passed on to EU representatives to improve the effectiveness of European sanctions, including new directions and areas for strengthening them. The issue of sanctions circumvention was also analyzed separately.
Participants in the meeting reached an agreement on a common position that Latushka will present at the meeting of the Belarus–EU group scheduled for March 6 in Brussels.
