The National Bank of Belarus has decided not to change the calculated standard risk parameters for May.
The same benchmarks as in April will remain in effect:
- for new fixed-term irrevocable deposits of individuals in Belarusian rubles with maturities from one to three years — 14.14% per annum;
- for new fixed-term irrevocable deposits of individuals in Belarusian rubles with maturities over three years — 15.31% per annum;
- for new investment loans granted to legal entities (excluding preferential loans) — 11.8% per annum;
- for new loans granted to legal entities (excluding preferential and investment loans) — 12.8% per annum;
- for new loans granted to individuals (excluding preferential loans) — 18.26% per annum.
Banks that exceed these standard risk thresholds are required to comply with stricter regulatory requirements regarding capital adequacy, provisioning for potential losses and the formation of mandatory reserve funds. As a result, the indicator indirectly affects lending rates in the country.
