Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus Pavel Muraveika commented on the results of the nuclear weapons deployment exercise.

According to him, one of the Belarusian missile divisions conducted live combat launches using Iskander missiles at a Russian training ground. The missile deviated by less than one metre from the impact point, he said.

“In fact, the missile hit exactly on target. This is a very good result, these are strong skills that will give future generations of missile troops a strong incentive to train and master these modern and powerful weapons.”, Muraveika said.

Aviation units practised dispersal, camouflage and occupying infrastructure elements to ensure aircraft survivability.

“Everything worked out, of course there were some minor imperfections, but they do not affect the overall results or the overall outcome.”, he noted.

Missile units and aviation practised preparations for carrying out strikes using special munitions, transmitting the relevant commands and planning fire engagement.

The exercise has now entered its final phase. Troops are expected to relocate to new deployment areas, withdraw and later conduct marches to their permanent bases.

“This is also an important element of training because the marches will be conducted over long distances, in difficult terrain, some of them at night, in order to prepare servicemen to operate under any conditions and at any time of day or night.”, Muraveika said.
