The traditional memorial ceremony at the Yama memorial complex in Minsk has been postponed. The Union of Belarusian Jewish Public Associations and Communities reported the decision.
“The memorial ceremony at the Yama memorial complex is being postponed due to security considerations. We will announce a new date additionally,” the union said.
It should be recalled that on March 2–3, 1942, when Jewish communities were to celebrate Purim, the Nazis carried out a mass execution of prisoners of the Minsk ghetto. More than 5,000 Jews were killed.
