The Minsk City Executive Committee has promised that within a couple of hours the temperature of the heat carrier will be restored to regulated levels. Damage to a heating main that occurred in the morning has already been localised.

“This morning, a rupture occurred on heating main No. 41 from CHPP-4. At present, a switch to backup heat supply sources is under way and the temperature is being raised. The damage has been localised, and specialists are determining the causes of the shutdown,” BelTA quoted Deputy Head of the Department and Head of the Energy Division of the City Economy and Energy Department of the Minsk City Executive Committee Andrei Sadouski as saying.

According to him, the increased load on pipelines is primarily linked to the high temperature of the heat carrier and low outdoor air temperatures.

“According to preliminary estimates, within a couple of hours the temperature of the heat carrier in the heating networks will be raised to the regulated level. The problem will be resolved,” he added.

Earlier, Minskenergo reported an accident on a heating main and warned that the temperature of the heat carrier could decrease for consumers in as many as five districts of Minsk.
