The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade identified violations in the actions of Belarusbank in the market for acquiring services using bank cards. The ministry noted that the bank holds a dominant position in this market.
During the inspection, it was established that the bank had included conditions in its public offer that contradicted antimonopoly legislation. In particular, the bank reserved the right to unilaterally refuse to conclude an agreement, suspend transactions and determine the amount of remuneration at its own discretion, classifying it as a commercial secret.
The Ministry issued the bank with a recommendation to eliminate the violations and take measures to prevent them in the future. The recommendations have been fully implemented, the ministry said.
