The Interior Ministry has added another 18 people to the “List of Citizens of the Republic of Belarus, Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons Involved in Extremist Activities.”
Among them is 70-year-old Nina Hnedzko, who was convicted under Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code for inciting hatred and Part 1 of Article 368 for insulting Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
The “extremist” list now contains 6,772 names.
The Belarusian authorities regularly use extremism-related charges to target political opponents and dissent more broadly.
