Lithuanian trucks that became stuck in Belarus after the border closure are still not crossing back into Lithuania. This was stated to LRT by the spokesperson of the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service, Giedrius Mišutis.
“There is no information as of this morning about trucks that had been in Belarus for a long time and have returned,” he said.
According to him, only those vehicles that entered Belarus after the reopening of the Šalčininkai and Medininkai checkpoints last week are crossing the border.
“There are trucks and semi-trailers that, after the opening of both checkpoints, went into Belarus, unloaded and returned,” he said.
According to Lithuanian border guards, over the past 24 hours 45 cargo vehicles crossed from Belarus through the Šalčininkai border crossing, and 68 through the Medininkai crossing. Most of the trucks crossing the border are vehicles transiting to or through the Kaliningrad region.
