Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet and head of the National Anti-Crisis Management, Pavel Latushka, has given testimony at the Warsaw District Police Command in connection with death threats.
“In response to publicly available information about threats to kill Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Pavel Latushka from an identified individual, and pursuant to an order from the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office directed to the capital’s police, Pavel Latushka testified as a witness at the Warsaw District Police Command (KRP-I),” Latushka’s Telegram channel reported.
The identity of the person who made the threats against Tsikhanouskaya and Latushka was established thanks to BELPOL. Following an inquiry, the materials and evidence were submitted to the Warsaw District Prosecutor, who will decide on further procedural steps.
The investigation into the threats falls under Poland’s jurisdiction, as the threats originated from a person residing in Poland and were directed at one of the individuals living in Poland, Latushka noted.
“Against Belarus’s democratic institutions and civil society, as well as activists of the democratic forces, the Lukashenka regime is conducting open, large-scale, systematic, and illegal operations, including of an extraterritorial nature. We can assess this as a declared war by the Lukashenka regime aimed at eliminating the democratic alternative,” Latushka said.
The politician noted that in recent months, the number of threats and provocations against democratic institutions has increased significantly.
Earlier, Latushka had testified to the Military Prosecutor of Poland’s National Prosecutor’s Office during an inquiry into threats, blackmail, bribery, and attempted recruitment by Lukashenka regime security services targeting members of the National Anti-Crisis Management and delegates of the Coordination Council.
