Labor migration to Belarus is on the rise, along with the number of crimes committed by foreigners. These statistics were presented on Tuesday by Deputy Interior Minister Yury Nazarenko at the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security.
According to BelTA, he said that over the first nine months of the year, the number of foreigners coming to Belarus for work increased by 1.5 times, from 21,000 to 32,000 people. At the same time, the number of Belarusians going abroad for work through legal entities and private entrepreneurs decreased from 3,000 to 2,000.
Nazarenko noted that against the backdrop of the influx of foreigners, there was a 17% increase in recorded crimes committed by foreign citizens. Their share in the overall crime structure rose slightly compared to the same period last year, reaching 3.4%.
