The implementation of import-substitution projects has enabled Belarus and Russia to replace foreign-made microchips worth $20 million, said Dmitry Krutoi, head of Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s administration, at a meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers’ High-Level Group.
“In the field of microelectronics, the road map of the Integral holding is being implemented. The development of new technological processes made it possible to master new products and replace those of Western manufacturers. The sides are currently studying the possibility of creating a unified register of microelectronic products.
Integral is a very characteristic example of our successful joint work over the past three years. Our holding cooperates with 48 Russian enterprises. Imports have been replaced for more than 65 types of microchips worth almost $20 million. There should certainly be more such examples,” he said, according to BelTA.
According to him, a strategy has also been developed for jointly supplying the market with critically important types of machine tools — laser, gear-processing and others.
“A list of programmes with state support from the Russian side has been drawn up, with Belarusian manufacturers participating. Work is under way to prepare a similar list for 2026. I ask that this work be completed promptly,” he added.
Krutoi also noted that measures are being developed to protect the market from grey imports.
“Mechanisms to protect against so-called grey imports from third countries are being elaborated. For this purpose, amendments have been prepared to the decree of the Supreme State Council of the Union State on countering the illegal import of goods,” he said.
