The Belarusian Ministry of Industry issued a statement in response to media reports alleging a planned launch of production of Zubr-brand cars — a Chinese marque — at the Unison joint venture. The ministry said the circulated information was “unreliable”.
“As of today, no enterprise in the sector has received from the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus any official authorization or other permit to produce Zubr-brand vehicles,” the ministry said.
The ministry stressed that publications claiming otherwise are unfounded and mislead the public. It also apologized to citizens and foreign partners for any inconvenience caused by the spread of “incorrect information” and urged media representatives to thoroughly verify data before publication.
