The Prosecutor General’s Office has opened a criminal case over violations of subsoil protection regulations resulting in particularly large-scale damage (Article 271 of the Criminal Code).
According to the case materials, from 2019 to March 2026, officials of a private company illegally extracted more than 410 cubic metres of mineral resources from sand deposits in Smaliavichy District. The environmental damage has been estimated at more than 55 million rubles.
The criminal case has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee.
